The Walton Maritime Museum in the old lifeboat house, East Terrace is open daily from 2-4pm until the end of September. The museum has many displays including the Walton lifeboat community, fossils and geology of the Naze and a model of Walton railway station. There are also 3 special exhibitions:- a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Walton Station, a centenary celebration of the heroic Walton lifeboat rescue that saved all 92 lives aboard SS Peregrine and Walton at war- part 4 (1917 Passchendaele; 1943-45 El-Alamein).

Thought this thread was about a lifeboat house, not a hall!

Perhaps the hall leads into the museum. It's useful to know whether a venue is accessible to all.

Apologies for not answering query about wheelchair access to museum before.  Yes the museum is wheelchair accessible and so is the toilet. Unfortunately the museum is now closed for the winter and the first opening in 2018 will be over the Easter weekend. The museum is next to the Coastguard's building at the end of East Terrace
