Anyone else got nice new lamp post lights that are on all night.  Very cold white lights that cover the road and pathways along Frinton Road near the Oakwood in Holland.  Saw a cherrypicker changing the light bulbs last Thursday and pleased we now have good all night lighting back, better than before they turned them off.

Yes, spoke to the guys doing it in Kings Parade and they said the new ones are 70W Led.

I understand the old ones are 400W or larger sodium. Hence a big saving in cost and I think it is better effect.

Initially looked a bit eerie but nice to have lights again and cost effective

The most sensible Boroughs chose to op to LED lamps and not spend many £1000`s on fitting radio controlled street  lighting like Essex County Council did, now it seems ECC under it new head has opted to swop out the costly sodium bulbs AND its radio controls (in places) and be sensible over street lighting, but there you go..

As Forest once said -

"stupid does stupid"

would take far too long to explain why we retired 10 years early and moved here,
but never regretted doing either.
