Just the title alone sends shivers down my spine, but, will we be hit with actual cold weather (at last) or are we being frightened into thinking we may get some really cold weather coming so we all rush off to ASIA or ASDAS will do, and stock up on months worth of bread & milk & choccy woccy bars, not forgetting dog food in case we run out..........(no not our food running out, but then faced with starving or eating tasty dog food)... Nooooooooo.................

just saying like....meanwhile I have only just shut my "office" window as its getting close to my bedtime....fresh air, just love it eh.. night all....

would take far too long to explain why we retired 10 years early and moved here,
but never regretted doing either.

I moved to Holland on Sea 15 months ago, thinking Sun Sand etc since then we've had a hurricane, blizzard, flash floods and 3 bouts of Snow lol
This winter seemed worthy of the "Game of Thrones" !

Stuart - when we moved to Jaywick in 1996, everyone said you'll have mild weather and no freezes because of the sea air. The first winter snowed in for 2 days.

No Maureen, it's now called Climate Change, that seemed to happen when we started getting colder winters. Isn't Political Correctness a wonderful thing. Like most progressive liberal buzz words, it seems to be a movable feast. 😆

Back in the 1960’s while at collage the government was raising concerns about the next ice age and if we would have enough energy resources. At an interview around 1969, as part of the selection process, we all had to have a discussion which was on. How to plan for the next ice age coming and have the energy resources. I did not get the job.

Global warming and freezing? Go way back and this country was under a ice pack about 1 mile deep.

Tis called Fresh air living my friend... lol

but yes, the winter season can be dark & dank, but then the spring & summers can be worth the move.

having grandchildren, even looking after my now 9 year old Georgey boy, for lots of his years, we are used to deep dark cold cloudless skies where we gaze straight up to see billions of stars in cloudless skies and since my now 18 year old grandaughter (who loves staying here also) has taught her younger cousin about the stars, groups & names, the little lad repeats it all to me, where i say - OH Yeh with wondermont...lol

The downside with near beach living is the ever present amounts of fine wind blown sea salt & sand that gets everywhere so generous use of WD40 has to be used to keep locks and hinges working as they should, even car window runners needing help at time, but worse of all is the now much concreted rear patio, then rear drive way and huge car port areas, that uncovered concrete goes horrid dark green slime in the damp, but dries to a light green discolouration that need a good concrete pre wash then jet washing.... I put simply tons & tons of concrete down to make it less maintenance than a big grassed back garden, but nature turns the concrete green in the winter again..lol.. I still love it here for its faults though...../.I do still have a small`ish fenced off area thats grassed for my "kids" with a swing and plants in pots &  "compostarium" as the grandkids call it as they love lifting the lid to see the masses of wrigley's  inside doing there good work in breaking down veggie matter into compost... Some kids these days know nothing about the world that surrounds them, but learn lots from nutty old grandad bless them..... I always have buckets of rainwater that also has filled water pistols in it for the kids both little and 70 year old ones to have a fight with but care about nothing other than there mums telling me off, so me & the kids just smile that knowing smile that says.. lets do it again - soon...lol....To be honest, we have summers so hot, that I pro actively look for some shade so used to buy a big gazebo to erect on our patio and keep up as long as we can, or until the winds destroy it, but now have purchased one of them large cantilevered wind out ones that are movable to give a 3 metre radial shade where needed.... Me & sunshine were once best friends but after a bout of skin cancer I now take more precautions when its very sunny but its fabulous being almost next to the beach... Like it here?.. NO love it here...lol

would take far too long to explain why we retired 10 years early and moved here,
but never regretted doing either.

The very reason I loved my old Land Rover Discovery.. unstoppable in anything bless it,  but sadly after 10 years of feeling unstoppable it was me that let it down, as my poorly left leg/ ankle could no longer keep up with the heavy clutch pedal, and so it went on to a collector of that model  - sadly..

So Trigger is alive and well and living in Brooklands, 🤔 but then again there does seem to be a certain similarity in Triggers logic and TDC's budgeting skills. 🤔
