Brand new houses being built by GITTINGS in Jaywick
Very well pleased to say that the new houses being built opposite the Jawick Market site a slowly coming along.
the contractors had to dig deep rebar reinforced concrete footings after the ground was levelled out & left to dry out adding pilings to aid support and flood water pressure resistance (if it ever floods) but its now standard procedure anywhere near water even miles inland.
Have seen block brickwork taking shape in the last few days, so, its coming along but slowly.
From what i have seen, I believe we have trades men in training on site, and splendidly so too, we desperately need more building tradesmen of every aspect here in East Anglia.
It took me 3 attempts to get past my already passed building work after we moved in, around 2004 that was due to an increase in size of our extension, but no bigger than my next door neighbours, but was in the time period when TDC put a ban on anything that Improved our homes, anything...
So, took me a year of research to come up with proof we wont flood for a 1 in a 100 to 1 in a 1000 year flood, and i done this research assisting our then ward councillors.. Got my photo in the Gazette with TDC and ECC councilors, me in front holding a letter proving I was right, me front centre of the rest..
Those that profited from my hard work said nothing, but I was glad to make use of it on my own home..
would take far too long to explain why we retired 10 years early and moved here,
but never regretted doing either.
